Nickels for Non-Profits is a community giving program which features a local non-profit for three months. Non-profits may include, but are not limited to, local organizations that support environment conservation, education, children, hunger relief, sustainability, animal compassion, organics and sustainable agriculture. During these three months, signage explaining the mission of the organization is ported throughout the store and each time a customer reuses a grocery five cents is donated to the featured non-profit. It is the goal of the program to reduce our use of new bags while increasing funding for a local non-profit. There are collection boxes at customer service desk and next to our employment center kiosk for customer to leave their nickels.
